Rumours of a huge screen on Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 could be wide of the mark
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hasn’t even been unveiled and already there are myriad debates surrounding the device, the most recent of which has been over the upcoming phablet’s screen size.
Many folks on the internet have apparently become convinced that Samsung’s next phablet will be a launched with a whopping 6.3-inch screen due to the introduction of a new gaming accessory by the manufacturer, which has been marketed for devices between 4 and 6.3 inches.
Other sources suggest that the Note 3 is likely to remain on or around Samsung’s 5.9-inch benchmark to keep the device pocketable, but there remains a distinct possibility that Samsung may kick things up a notch, especially given the Galaxy S4’s increased screen size.
While we’re unsure what dimensions the new device’s screen will be we are slightly more confident that we know what else the screen will have in store, as rumours have suggested that the new device will use Samsung’s Omega AMOLED technology, which will apparently feature pixel density of 440+ppi, to rival devices like Sony’s Xperia Z and HTC’s One.
The device’s spec has also been the subject to plenty of gossip and the current consensus would appear to suggest that we’re looking at something pretty powerful. According to rumours the device will launch with Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa, 8-core chipset, and will also include 4GB RAM, a 16-megapixel camera and, of course, the next major iteration of Android - version 5.0 or Key Lime Pie, as well as a host of other refinements.
While there will almost certainly be more daily gossip surrounding the successor to the Galaxy Note 2, we’re unlikely to find out anything concrete until at least September, when IFA kicks off in Berlin, but we’re more than happy for Samsung to prove us wrong and lift the curtain on it sooner!
