Samsung is reportedly looking to integrate the Exynos 5210 chipset inside its Galaxy S4 Mini handset
Samsung is believed to have a third Exynos chipset in development and reports suggest it will debut inside the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
Yesterday we reported on potential launch dates for the Galaxy S4 Mini and suspected spec. There was little mention of chipsets in the leak other than an alleged clockspeed, but the report did point to a likely release date in the second half of 2013.
Samsung has not yet commented on whether or not it is working on a new Exynos chipset. But something's definitely going on – ‘Linux dev tools were committed to Free-electrons.com for an smdk5210 development kit. The model number also appears in an AOSP port on GitHub where ‘Exynos 5210’ is mentioned by name, reports GSM Arena.
Suspected to run ARM’s big.LITTLE technology in a Quad-Core structure, the Exynos 5210 is believed to be equipped with Dual Cortex-A15 Cores and Dual Cortex-A7 cores. Nothing is yet known about its GPU.
The Exynos 5210 could also be just a Dual-Core Cortex-A15 SoC, according to Sam Mobile.
