We covered the Micromax Canvas Power a few days ago and now it has finally been launched. The main hardware feat here is how they managed to squeeze in a 4000 mAh battery into a handset with a 5 inch screen. Offering a lot more than the Galaxy Note 3 and the Lumia 1520 which fall in the phablet territory. Considering how badly the Delhi teenager was Injured in Canvas 2.2 A114's battery explosion last month, we've bad feelings about this phone.
The Canvas Power is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor, but there seems to be a rather meagre 512 MB of ram to fuel those cores. On the good side, FWVGA, 854x480 pixel screen seems like the perfect display for the processor and RAM combination on tap; having fewer pixels to push.
All of smartly chosen hardware bits still however limit the device to Android Jelly Bean V 4.1 so there will not be a lot in terms of features and updates available here. Dual SIM support with dual standby also made it way into the handset along with the 5 MP camera coupled with an LED flash. All-in-all the device seems to be the perfect road warrior with its massive battery and energy-efficient internals.
Available in Black only, the handset is priced at Rs 9,900.
