Asus has announced their ultimate entertainment notebook dubbed W90 power packed with high-end graphics cards. The top cover is made from fine brushed aluminum and the laptop comes with full HD 1080p display screen options. This multimedia monster packs in a Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD cards, or the Nvidia GeForce Mobile 9 series GPUS.

The W90, equipped with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400), supports a 1066GHz FSB with an Intel X38 chipset system. One can choose between a 17-inch widescreen WUXGA ultra-bright LCD screen or an 18.4-inch widescreen HD ultra-bright display. In the graphics department, the notebook offers an option of running dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 or HD 3850 GPUs in CrossFire configuration. Alternatively, one can also go for a single Nvidia GeForce 9800M GS GPU. Bear in mind that all three graphics cards will have 1GB of dedicated video memory!

Sporting the 64-bit Windows Vista SP1, the laptop can support upto 6GB (3x2GB) DDR2 800MHz memory. Storage is not an issue since W90 has two 250GB/320GB/500GB 5400RPM hard disks. Watching HD movies on an 18.4-inch widescreen HD screen with 5.1 channel Altec Lansing speakers would be fun. The laptop also includes a Blu-ray combo drive and the video feature can be connected to a larger screen with the HDMI out.

Asus has packed in everything possible to attract an elite gamer or multimedia enthusiast; no feature has been left out. However, nothing is mentioned about the battery packed into this system. Asus' Turbo Gear function for system overclocking affects battery life. With all the high-end hardware included, the laptop should have a good battery to make it run for at least 5 hours.

We'll have to wait till Asus provides information about battery specifications and the price and availability of W90, the ultimate multimedia laptop.
