Google Apps for business, a valuable tool set for many companies, will no longer be available as a free option.
The search giant announced that only the premium version would be available moving forward, for $50 per user per year, regardless of the size of your company.
We should note that if you have an existing Google Apps for business account that you’ll be able to continue using it for free. The new subscription fee applies only to businesses wanting to sign up.
As a premium member, you will have access to 24/7 customer support and larger inboxes (25GB), and a 99.9 percent uptime guarantee with no scheduled downtime.
Individuals wanting to use Google’s web apps like Gmail and Drive can still create free personal Google accounts, which provide a seamless experience across all of Google‘s products on any devices.
Google noted that Google Apps for Education will continue to be offered as a free services for schools and universities. Also, this will not impact Google Apps for Governments, which will remain as a paid subscription at $50 per user, per year.
