Wireless Bluetooth headphones are known for lossy audio quality due to compression of already compressed audio during transmission. Wireless headsets have therefore never been thought capable of delivering audiophile quality sound. But this is about to change, because TDK - Life on Record has just released its new WR700 wireless headphones based on Kleer technology, to deliver flawless audio with no wires attached.

Kleer is proprietary wireless transmission technology, promising to deliver lossless, uncompressed digital audio in CD quality. To make use of this technology, the WR700 headphones come with a Kleer adapter, which attaches to the audio source with a 3.5 mm headphone port such as your Hi-Fi stereo system, MP3 player or computer, and the WR700 start working instantly - no pairing required, unlike with Bluetooth. Dynamic channel selection available in the WR700, eliminates any audio drops.

The WR700 is powered by two AAA batteries, as is the transmitter unit. With ultra-low power consumption, the specifications claim that the batteries can give you up to 40 hours of listening pleasure. We must add here that while the transmission may be lossless, the audio quality will also depend on the quality of the drivers.

You can get the WR700 across India through national distributor Redington India Ltd and Neoteric Infomatique Ltd at a reasonable MRP of Rs. 6,900.
